When I launched Schoolgirl Style back in August, I set some goals for my little blog. I thought it would take a good year to get myself noticed and to accumulate followers. I planned to use this year as my “trial” year, “get my feet wet,” learn how to blog, get to know my followers, make some friends with people that have similar interests. Well, it has been a whirlwind since I started three months ago! I have watched my Pinterest boards rise to almost 2,000 followers and my Facebook page is now at 1,000 fans! I am in amazement everyday at the sweet comments that I receive, the positive reactions to my photos, and all of the nice people I have met since I started this journey.
When I started blogging, I commented back to everyone that posted on my site! I wanted each person to know that I truly appreciated their kind words. Now, I find that it is getting harder. As you know, I am a full time teacher during the day, so my blogging and Schoolgirl Style “world” doesn’t usually start until all of my home and work priorities are finished. It makes it really hard to comment and respond to everyone. Please know that I do read each and every comment. Every time I get a new follower, I also click on their page and try to find out a little bit about who “likes” Schoolgirl Style. I certainly want to get to know my audience! On a side note, I have the biggest following from the gals in Texas. You know what they say…they do things BIG in Texas! It doesn’t surprise me that they love my “over the top” attitude towards decorating! 🙂 I also know a lot of you by name now. I recognize you if you post something or purchase something from my shop. Your loyalty means the world to me!
Reaching my 1,000 followers on Facebook came at the perfect time…Thanksgiving. I am certainly thankful for all of you! To celebrate my 1,000 fans on Facebook, I am giving you my Thanksgiving banner and tags. I hope you can use these for your own Thanksgiving celebration. With my sincerest gratitude, I would like to thank you for the best three month “trial” a girl could ask for!
Melanie xoxo
