I’ve had a ton of people ask if they can add text to my labels and tags after they purchase the pdf file. Unfortunately, you are unable to edit a pdf file after you make the purchase. This isn’t something that I’ve decided to do, this is just how it is with technology. I know how bad people want this option though.
I was so excited to receive an email last night from Terry. Terry explained how she is able to add text to labels. It seems SO easy! I would love for someone to try this and let me know how it worked for them. If anyone knows of another way to add text, please tell me!!!
Here are the directions…
You can copy/paste the pdf into Word, add a text box where you want to type, format the textbox by making the line no color and it will disappear. Type away. print!
There you have it!
Told you it was easy! ![]()

You can also insert a textbox in the PDF depending on what version of adobe you have. There is an option to add text or signature in the top right corner of the screen. I can’t do it at home, but I can at my school. The only drawback is that the fonts are limited (can’t get the cute ones I download from Kevin and Amanda) and so are the colors. This word option seems WAY cooler. 🙂
I tried to copy/paste it into word and I have done it with other clipart that I have purchased, but I cannot get it to work with the items that I purchased. When I try to cut and paste it, it is pasting the items one at a time into word. It will not cut the entire tag. Please offer any suggestions as to how I can get this to work.
Thank you!
That’s how I did it! 🙂
I was able to do it by inserting it as a picture into a powerpoint slide, adding a text box over the picture, then formatting the text box with no line, no fill, and no shadow (like you described above!) Works like a charm!
This is so good to know. I will try it out in August!
Maybe I should have said “Select All” or select by dragging your mouse over the item you want to copy and it should turn blue. Then edit/copy or Ctrl C. Open a Word document and paste. The rest about inserting a text box where you want the label works for me everytime! I Right-click on the textbox and select “format test box”. From there, I select “line color” and select “no color” and then Ok. On the Owl nametags, I also selected Fill and then “no color” so I could see the dotted line before I typed. I chose my font and color and resized as needed! They have turned out perfectly!
Hope that helps!!
Terry
Thanks so much, Terry!!!
I have been playing with this for a little bit. If you have the newer version of adobe it will not let you copy and paste from the document. I tried dragging, selection all and nothing worked. Finally I was able to take a snapeshop and then paste it into word or powerpoint. Then adding a text box was easy peasy 🙂 You will want to play with it to get the right size because if you change the size too much once you paste it does start to distort the image! thanks for the lesson in adding text I am so excited to now get started!
I am playing around with adding text right now. I have a mac (if that matters) I could not copy and paste to word but I opened it in Photoshop and added text there. Similar to the person who used powerpoint. Same idea.
I’m having trouble getting this to work too. Kristina, how do I take a snapshop of it??
To take a snapshot on a PC, you press ctrl + print screen on your keyboard.
Hope that helps! 🙂
I just added text and was able to choose Comic Sans 24.
I turned out great!! Thanks for the tip~
