I would like to introduce you to Marie Craven. Marie teaches Kindergarten at Welcome Elementary School in North Carolina. Don’t you just love the name of her school?!? This is her third year of teaching and she has taught Kindergarten (my favorite grade) all three years. She went to college in NC at University of North Carolina and was on the Education Science Team where she taught all of the curriculum through science. Marie also got married this summer and her hubby is a teacher as well!
Marie has her own blog called “It’s a Jungle Out There.” She is interested in connecting with other teachers, so make sure you stop by her blog or Facebook page and let her know that Melanie sent you!
Marie started a jungle theme and ran with it. Her room is so adorable! There are some great elements in her room, so hopefully you will get inspired and try some of these ideas in your own classroom!
Enjoy the photos…

Not only is space lively and fun, but she was mindful of the learning that takes place. The books are organized, her students have clearly defined areas to work, and everything appears to have it’s place! Congratulations, Marie, on your beautiful room … and new marriage!
I am sooo excited to see Marie’s classroom on your blog! I teach at the same school as Marie and her classroom is even cuter than the pictures can show. It is very welcoming and organized. Marie is an exceptional beginning teacher! Our school is so fortunate to have her.
I love your blog and your wonderful ideas!
I love the animal prints and the crates. How did you make the crates?
