My best friend in the whole world is Heidi. Heidi and I met about 13 years ago when I started teaching in Grand Blanc. We went through the same Masters degree program and instantly became friends. When we were suppose to be working on homework and projects for our program, you could find us laughing, snacking, and spending lots of hours talking – the homework always came last! We remained good friends after we graduated. As the years went by, I could count on Heidi to be there for me whenever I needed her. She was there through the hardships, struggles, good times, bad times and was my shoulder to cry on when I needed her. Heidi and I are very different, but our love for family and home are the traits that make us so compatible.
Several years later, we both went back to graduate school and received our Education Specialist degrees TOGETHER. We helped each other through the most excruciating program of our lives. We both know that we couldn’t have done it without each other.
As I get older, I understand how difficult it is to find a true friend. I find myself incredibly lucky to have my true friend, Heidi. I can’t imagine going through life without her!
I gave Heidi all of my tags from my Polka Dot and Daisy Collection. She came up with the cutest idea…lime green, red, black & white polka dots, and ladybugs! What an adorable combination! Here are some pics from Heidi’s 1st grade classroom…

Don’t you love the colors? I also loved the way Heidi used my “Welcome” sign in a different way – on her door! The lime green daisies from Polka Dot Market and the lime green poms are stunning with this color combination. I love how the black and white polka dots look great with so many colors! Great job, Heidi!

Nice. It’s like a lovely polka dot garden. 🙂

That is a cute way of putting it! 🙂
I love it, Heidi!!!!
Adorable! Perfect color combination -I’ve always been partial to red and black together, but the green makes it fun and happy. LOVE those ladybugs.
Thanks Mary!
Thanks friend! Love ya!
My room is the same color combo with ladybugs. I used the green fabric on all of my bulletin boards. Everyone that comes in mentions how bright it is and I always get asked if my room is bigger than the other classrooms. (They are all the same.) It really is a cheery color combination!
How did you get the table numbers to attach to the paper fan? I am going to be using paper fans for my table numbers next year and I am unsure how to attach them to eachother. Thank you for your help.
Love the catalogue Creative Press!! Interested in the paperfans with blank circles. I teach 3rd and my table teams are named after Ivy League colleges, the team captains are called professors. Would be appreciate all your help and info. Thanks again
The fans are now in my shop! Such a cute idea!
I am using black and white polka dots and aqua… I can’t wait to create this look in my classroom! I love the ladybugs and the red/white/black color scheme (our school colors).
Thank you for sharing your great ideas! I too, want to use the paper fans and was wondering how to attach.
Thanks again!
I was wondering how you use the poetry notebooks. Would you mind sharing?
Thanks
I noticed on your door that you have a very nice blind. That size is hard to find. Where did you find it?
I’m using a modified version of this theme this year in 3rd. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to my finished classroom.
I love this theme! I was wondering where did you find the ladybugs?
