When I think of holidays, I often think of my mother. She made every holiday special. As a child, she went out of her way to make sure our house felt festive throughout the year. I remember feeling so happy and excited as we awaited the next season and anticipated the beautiful environment that she would create for us!
One Halloween in particular, I can remember getting off the bus and seeing what my mother had been up to while we were gone at school. As I approached our house, I could see that she had covered our windows with festive jack-o-lanterns and draped orange and black crepe paper from top to bottom!
All of the neighbor kids were standing outside “oohing” and “ahhing” our house.
My childhood was filled with happy memories and I find myself trying to create those special memories for my own children.
I don’t always decorate for me. Most of the time, I have my family in mind. I know how excited my kids are when the decorations are pulled out. This is my motivation.
This particular set-up was created for my teenage son and his friends. If you haven’t heard, he broke his knee at school. My son has been in a wheelchair for several weeks and we still have a few more weeks to go. It is a long recovery and it’s been very difficult for him. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend Homecoming and has been stuck in the house for quite some time.
I created an older looking Halloween collection with him in mind. Black and gray are the hot colors in decorating right now, so this collection is spooky and stylish! My son, Jake, was so excited to have a few of his friends over and enjoy some yummy treats with this super cool Halloween buffet! He loved it!
The collection includes a Halloween banner, food tent cards, cupcake toppers, and a cute “You’ve been Boo-ed” sign with directions to use in your neighborhood or at school!
I hope you enjoy my FREE printables! Please use these to help make happy memories in your own home!
Enjoy!
