You may have remembered me talking about my teaching partner, Tara. Tara and I both love to decorate, so we are perfect together! Tara is a big scrapbooking gal, so she used her Cricut to make her table signs, banners, and other items in her classroom. What I love about Tara is that she gets an idea and runs with it! Do you remember the post about Tara coming over late one night in her pj’s to show me what she bought for her room? She came in, spread all of the goodies she bought for her room on my living room floor, asked if I liked it, then left. She didn’t stay long because she was going back home to make more things with her Cricut. You would not believe the things that she came up with!
Tara loves the color green. Her room makes her happy because of the color combination of greens and blues. Tara is also a beach girl – she has traveled all over the world and has visited some of the best beaches and resorts. Her room reflects her personality and her love of the ocean. Tara just told me that she doesn’t plan to change her room next year – she loves her classroom so much. Shouldn’t you love your environment? I don’t blame her – I love her room too!

I’m riding the wave! The ceiling reminds me of sea creatures swimming in the ocean. I could easily teach in that room for a while. (Cricut is a new one on me. ) It IS a happy room.
Oh my word, I wish I taught in the same building as you and your friends. 🙂 The other teachers are always saying that I have the cute items, but I pale in comparison with you ladies. You always inspire me.

A Teacher’s Plan
Oh my goodness! I’ve been LOVING your site for a while now and just realized you are a teacher in my district! No way! What a small world! You have such a great eye for style. I appreciate someone who is passionate about creating an inspiring learning environment for kids – it does matter!
Oh my goodness! That is crazy! I took a look at your blog and didn’t recognize you or your kids, so I am assuming that I haven’t had any of them. I figured that since I’ve taught at Indian Hill, Reid, and Brendel, there was a good chance! You are right – it is a small world! 🙂
I love your classroom. Where did you find the lime green lanterns hanging from the ceiling. They really bring the room alive.
Awesome room!!!!
Awesome room!!!!! Where did you find the lime green lanterns (paper ball thingies) hanging from the ceiling. I love those.
Hi Melissa!
I will be selling these in the Schoolgirl Style shop this summer! 🙂
I am excited….our school theme is Dive INto Learning this next year. I too scrapbook and LOVE the CRICUT….I hope to use some of your ideas in designing my room. With the building wide theme, classrooms start to look alike…I want something different…something to make a statement!! Thanks for sharing!
I just love the word wall labels. It looks like she cut up an alphabet chart, do you know if that is right? I just love your blog.
I love the colors especially the word wall. Any suggestions on how to make something similar .
I love the curtains! Do you know where she got the fabric to make them? I love your website and all of the ideas for making classrooms inviting! I am doing a total overhaul of my room this year and using a lot of ideas from you. Thanks for the inspiration!
