There is one thing that I love just as much as decorating and that is beauty products.
I grew up loving makeup and would actually sneak it in my backpack and put it on at school when I was young. It didn’t end there. I walked around with a compact and a can of White Rain hairspray for years!
By the time I was a teenager, I would stare at Teen and Seventeen magazines and copy hairstyles that I saw on the models, while also following every single makeup tip and trend that I read. I even went as far as to tape beauty pageants on television. I would pause the tape when I could get a close-up of a contestant to copy their makeup and hairstyle. I practiced and practiced and practiced some more!
To this day, I still have an obsession. I really feel like make up is just an extension of my creativity. I have tried so many products and definitely have some favorites. Here is a little peek into my makeup bag…
1. Urban Decay Naked2 eye shadow palette.
I love pigmented eye shadow. The better quality the eye shadow, the more pigmented it is. I love the neutral colors in this collection.
2. Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara
I’ve tried them all and this one is my absolute favorite!
*Makeup tip! Use your hair dryer to heat up your eyelash curler. Make sure you touch it before you curl your lashes – it could be too hot. I hold and count to 12 (yes, that is my perfect eyelash number) and coat with this amazing mascara. You will look like you have false lashes, but it is all YOU!
3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil
I have the biggest problem with eye liner smearing and this one doesn’t. It is creamy and blends beautifully. My all time favorite liner!
This is the creamiest and smoothest lip liner I have ever tried. I color my entire lips with lip liner and add a gloss at the end. *Wallflower is a great neutral
5. I actually love all of Urban Decay’s lip gloss. My absolute favorite is Stardust lip gloss. It has such a gorgeous sparkly shimmer!
6. Watt’s Up! Highlighter from Benefit
Check out their website where they have a video showing you how to use this. I am so addicted to this product. I can’t imagine ever not using this!
7. Loreal True Match Foundation
I’ve worn the most expensive department store foundations and just keep coming back to this. I get a ton of compliments on my complexion and this is why. I bought it a few years ago after I read in a magazine that it was the best drug store foundation out there. I decided to try it and fell in love. Like I said, I keep trying expensive brands and don’t like it nearly as much as this! LOVE this product!
8. Merle Norman Ultra Powder Foundation
I use this over my foundation for that flawless look. I’ve worn this powder for 20 years. I’ve tried other brands and nothing compares to this. You can wear this without foundation as well. This is great when you are in a hurry and need a little cover up. On a normal day, I always use my True Match foundation AND the Ultra Powder.
9. Fragrance
Lately, I’ve switched between these two…
Bath and Body Works “Pink Chiffon”

10. I always use blush. I actually don’t have a favorite. Lately, I’ve been wearing Estee Lauder, but any department store brand is fine. I’ve tried drug store brands over and over and they just seem too powdery and not pigmented enough.

My favorite blush is orgasm by NARS and my sister got me hooked on L’oreal bb cream..absolutely love this..It’s great on it’s own ifyou are in a hurry and just want to even out skin, otherwise I use it as my primer under bare mineral pressed foundation.
I LOVE that Urban Decay palette. I also love their eye shadow primer. I’ve tried tons of other ones, and theirs is the best. That’s my splurge product. That and my mineral face powders. I am also a curling mascara fanatic. I use Rimmel. They used to have a really great one, but have since changed it. I don’t like the new one as much, but it’s still not bad for $8. The other product I LOVE is L’Oreal liquid eyeliner. It has a felt tip that’s long enough, but not too long. With regular eyeliner, my line gets too thick. So I’ve been using liquid for a few years, and the trick is a felt tip, not a brush. I used to sell Estee Lauder and Lancome, but now that I’m teaching, it’s cheap-o brands for me. Loreal and Lancome are made by the same company, so I tell myself that at least I’m buying from the same place! (:
I am a big fan of Urban Decay! I have all their eye shadow palettes and eye-liners. I really love that they don’t do animal testing.
I love the Merle Norman foundation too! I have never heard of Urban Decay. Can you buy it in a store or only online?

I still keep a can of hairspray in my classroom! One cannot have flat hair!!!! I have used Mary Kay products since I was in my early twenties. I love all their products!!!
I am DYING to get the Naked pallette #2 but haven’t caved yet. It’s just so pricey, but I feel like I’d probably use it everyday…
My fave blush is Nars Orgasm as well, but the cheapie version is by E.L.F. at Target, and it’s like $3.00. Can’t beat that!
I have terrible under eye circles, and I have tried pretty much every concealer known to man. The best one, which I spend WAY too much money on, but it’s just THAT good, is by Amazing Cosmetics. HIGHLY recommend. 🙂
My favorite lip gloss is by Mary Kay. It’s called “Fancy Nancy,” and I love it. 🙂

I also love the Urban Decay Naked 2 eye palette! Nars blush and lipsticks are also fabulous! Try Funny Face Nars lipstick. It is a lively hot pink! While I also like urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner, my all time fave is Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner. It glides on smoothly with the ultra fine liner brush, and does not budge all day!
