Gray is one of the hottest colors of the season. I really can’t get enough of the color! I can’t control myself when it comes to gray in my home decor and in fashion! It is classic, yet soothing at the same time.
So, why not add gray to your classroom decor?
I am so obsessed with yellow and gray. If you follow me, you know that I’ve created a yellow and gray collection a couple years ago. This pretty color combination continues to be extremely popular, so I made the decision to create a NEW yellow and gray collection with updated patterns. I’ve also added beautiful coordinating classroom decor to the Schoolgirl Style Shop. Make sure you stop by and check out my pretty new products!
Behind the Scenes: If you look closely at my labels, I tend to use names of people that mean a lot to me. In this particular photo shoot, I chose to celebrate my friend, Katie. I met Katie when her daughter was in my Kindergarten class eight years ago. She was the mom that would show up whenever I needed help, she would call me when she was out shopping and ask if I needed any supplies, and when I found out I was expecting a baby, she was the first one there with a bag of maternity clothes. She was an amazing mother and friend. Right before this shoot, Katie lost her battle to breast cancer. She left behind a husband and three young daughters. Although I know that Katie is a beautiful angel now, my heart still hurts for her family. Katie loved fashion and all things pretty…Katie would have LOVED this collection.

Thank you for commenting all the time, by the way. It makes my day to hear such sweet things!
Classic and classy… So lovely, Melanie. Another collection that will work for both boys and girls. I really like the dove and graphite grays together– adds depth. The owl, by the way, has the sweetest eyes– what cute little eyelashes!
You are so sweet! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, Diana. I always love to get feedback!
I love this collection. Have you ever done owls with a red, yellow, and black color theme? I would love to use this in my classroom next year but already use the red, yellow, and black color theme.
Melanie, this collection is gorgeous and so in style! I feel like I have been seeing yellow and gray all over stores for spring clothes as well as on Pinterest. Last year I bought and fell in love with your Sunny Skies collection. As a middle school teacher (who’s favorite color is yellow!) this collection was perfect. It was soothing, yet colorful and fun and yet not too cutsy! My room was just painted a cream color with charcoal print, so I’m thinking your Yellow and Gray collection is the perfect match! What bulletin board paper do you recommend? Could this work with a baby blue left-over from last year? Or go gray? Thank you!
*Sorry- I meant charcoal trim.
I would definitely go gray! I am now selling gray paper in my shop because it is so hard to find. If you are looking for it, it’s called “pewter.” Thank you for coming back for another collection this year!!! 🙂
Great! Thank you! Oh- and your owls are absolutely ADORABLE!
I know it’s completely selfish of me, but I don’t want these posts to ever end! You’ve worked so hard and I simply cannot get enough of everything you create. If you’re ever looking to expand your business into Chicagoland you know someone who’d volunteer to be an intern! 😉

Can you make the owls into clip art?
Looking for a new look next year. ..where can I get the fabric, owls and other items posted for this classy, clean look

Is there any way you can offer the gray and white polka dot paper featured as the background on the bulletin board in the Yellow & Gray classroom? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything like it. Love all of your designs!
